Chemical Constituents-
Leaves contain a monoglucoside, beta- and gamma- sitosterols, ceryl alcohol, palmitic and cerotic acids. Stem contains Beta-sitosterol, beta-sitosterol-p-glucoside and ceryl alcohol. Flowers contain flavonoids pectolinarigenin, hispidulin, apigenin and luteolin

aromatic and astringent, decoction used as a demulcent in gonorrhoea
