Chemical_Constituents-
Rhizome contains sesquiterpene ketone zerumbone, zerumbone oxide. Oil contains zerumbone (8-oxohumulene); two terpenoids humulene monoxide and humulene di-oxide; two ketones (-6), a diepoxide (-4), two 2- epoxides - humulene epoxide I and humulene epoxide II and humulenol (-3) along with (+)- curcumene and caryophyllene epoxide
Uses -
Rhizomes used in cough, stomachache, asthma and also as a vermifuge. It is used in leprosy and other skin diseases.
