Botanical name - Eclipta prostrata
Description - Prostrate or decumbent hairy herbs. Leaves linear-oblong, sessile. Flowers white, in solitary or paired heads.
Chemical_Constituents- Plant contains terthienyl aldehyde ecliptal, demethylwedelolactone-7-glucoside, 16 polyacetylenic thiophenes, 0.078% nicotine. Aerial parts contain steroid, triterpenoid and flavonoid.
Uses - Tonic and deobstruent, used in hepatic and spleenic enlargements and in skin troubles. Root emetic, purgative.
