Botanical name - Cyclea peltata
Description -
Cyclea peltata. A much branched, slender, twining shrub, with sparingly pillose stems. Leaves deltoid or ovate, acute, muesonate, more or less hairy on the nerves and veins. Small, greenish flowers in axillary panicles. Male panicles are axillary, slender, much branched, divaricate and subsessile flowers. Female panicles racemose, much shorten than the male. Globose calyx or broadly Companulate. Fruits are drupes and ovoid with curved seed.
Chemical_Constituents-
Roots contain bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids cycleadurine, cycleaorine, cycleahomine chloride, cycleapeltine, fangchinoline, d-tetrandrine, dl-tetrandrine, d-isochondrodendrine, cyclein.
