Botanical name - Callicarpa macrophylla
Description -
Phytography : A stout shrub; branches, leaves, (beneath) and inflorescence densely stellately woolly; leaves 1.25-2.50 cm long, elliptic, rarely ovate-lanceolate, long acuminate, crenate or crenate-dentate; flowers rose-coloured in dense dichotomous cyme; drupe 3-6 cm, white.

Chemical contents : Root: an aromatic oil, Aerial parts : 2-tetracyclic diterpenoids, calliterpenone and its mono-OAc; Leaf: (3-sitosterol, calliterpenone and its mono-OAc, luteolin, apigenin and its 7-glucuronides, ursolic acid, crategolic acid; Seed : calliterpenone and its -OAc.
Uses -
Traditional use : Leaf (heated) : applied to joints for relieving rheumatic pain; Oil from root : aromatic, stomachic.
