Roots contain spinasaponins A and B. Leaves contain f Spinatoside, proteins, stigmasterol, stigmastanol, a- spinasterol, patuletin and spinacetin. Seeds yield fatty oil.
Use -
Leaves diuretic. Fruits demulcent and diuretic, employed in fevers and inflammations of bowels
