    Botanical name - Portulaca quadrifida

    Description - Slender, diffuse, succulent herbs, rooting at nodes with suberect branches. Leaves ovate. Flowers yellow, solitary, terminal. Capsule oblong; seeds tubercled.

    Chemical Constituents- Seeds yield oil containing triterpenes

    Use - Herb used in asthma, cough, urinary discharges, inflammations and ulcers; also used similar to P. oleracea. Poultice of herb applied in haemorrhoids and erysipelas.
